من المتوقع أن ترتفع وتيرة الحيوية الثقافية في نيو ساوث ويلز، مع إعلان حكومة السيد Minns العمالية عن تمويل بقيمة 500 ألف دولار للجولة التالية من برنامجها الرائج بعنوان “أقوى معا لمنح المهرجانات والمناسبات”.
يعد التعدد الثقافي أحد ركائز الولاية، وتضفي المناسبات المجتمعية حيوية على المدن والبلدات في جميع أنحاء نيو ساوث ويلز.
وقد عملت حكومة السيد Minns العمالية دائما على دعم التعددية الثقافية النابضة بالحياة والمجتمعات المتنوعة ثقافيا في الولاية، ويعد تمويل هذا البرنامج الرائج دليلا آخر على هذا الالتزام.
تدعم المبادرة المهرجانات والمناسبات متعددة الثقافات، مما يساعد المجتمعات على إبراز تراثها وتقاليدها وإبداعاتها، مع تعزيز الوحدة والشمول في الوقت ذاته.
وستمول جولة المنح الجديدة المناسبات المقررة بين 1 نيسان / أبريل 2026 و 30 أيلول / سبتمبر 2026، بتقديم منح فردية تتراوح قيمتها بين 5 آلاف و 20 ألف دولار.
وكانت المنح في جميع أنحاء نيو ساوث ويلز قد دعمت منظمات تغطي المهرجانات الثقافية والموسيقية، وصولا إلى المعارض الفنية والتجمعات المجتمعية. وتوفر هذه المناسبات فرصا قيمة للناس من جميع الخلفيات للالتقاء والمشاركة في التنوع الثقافي الغني الذي يميز نيو ساوث ويلز.
وجاء هذا الإعلان تأسيسا على نجاح الجولة الأولى من البرنامج، والتي موّلت مجموعة متنوعة من المناسبات، بما فيها ما يلي:
في نيوكاسل أنتجت منظمة شوارع قاموا ببنائها فيلما قصيرًا يُظهر عائلات يونانية وإيطالية وآسيوية تروي قصص هجرتها ومساهماتها في نمو Hamilton. وتم عرض الفيلم لأول مرة في James Street Plaza خلال الملتقى العالمي لمدينة نيوكاسل” بدعم من متحف نيوكاسل. وقد ساهمت لقطات ومقابلات من الأرشيف في حفظ هذه القصص للأجيال القادمة، وسلطت الضوء على إرث الجاليات المهاجرة في المنطقة.
في غرب سيدني، جمعت بطولة كأس العالم لكرة القدم للمجتمعات متعددة الثقافات والاحتفال المجتمعي أكثر من 20 مجتمعا متنوعا ثقافيا ولغويا في Rydalmere Park وتضمنت هذه المناسبة المجانية التي استضافها “الاتحاد الأسترالي الأفريقي لكرة القدم” (AAFA) مباريات في كرة القدم وعروضا ثقافية وعروضا شبابية وأنشطة تعزز الاندماج والوعي عبر الثقافات.
في دبو، احتفل كرنفال عبر الثقافات، الذي نظمته ORISCON، بالموسيقى والرقص والطعام والفن من تقاليد متنوعة. وتضمنت المناسبة التي استمرت ليوم كامل عروضا ترفيهية حية، وأنشطة للأطفال، وأكشاك طعام متعددة الثقافات، وتجارب تفاعلية عززت الروابط المجتمعية وسلطت الضوء على التنوع في المنطقة.
في غريفيث، جمع “المهرجان متعدد الثقافات” مجتمعات المدينة المتنوعة في احتفال نابض بالحياة في Memorial Park. واستضاف هذه المناسبة المجانية “مجلس غريفيث متعدد الثقافات”، وتضمنت عروضا ثقافية، وأكشاك طعام، وأنشطة تفاعلية، وعروضا شبابية. واستمتع الحضور بالموسيقى والرقص التقليديين، وتذوقوا مأكولات عالمية، وشاركوا في تجارب شيقة عززت الشمول والتفاهم عبر الثقافات.

Minns Labor Government backs multicultural events

NSW’s vibrant cultural heartbeat is set to grow even stronger, with the Minns Labor Government announcing $500,000 in funding for the next round of its popular Stronger Together Festival and Event Grants Program.
Multiculturalism is one of the bedrocks of the state, and community events bring vibrancy to cities and towns right across NSW.
The Minns Labor Government has long supported the state’s vibrant multiculturalism and culturally diverse communities, and the funding for this popular program is another illustration of that commitment.
The initiative supports multicultural festivals and events, helping communities showcase their heritage, traditions, and creativity while fostering unity and inclusion.
The latest round of grants will fund events scheduled between 1 April 2026 and 30 September 2026, with individual grants ranging from $5,000 to $20,000.
Across NSW, the grants supported organisations covering cultural and music festivals to art exhibitions and community gatherings. These events offer powerful opportunities for people of all backgrounds to come together to share in the rich cultural diversity that defines NSW.
This announcement builds on the success of the program’s first round, which funded a diverse slate of events, including:
In Newcastle, Streets That They Built produced a short film featuring Greek, Italian, and Asian families sharing migration stories and their contributions to Hamilton’s growth. It premiered at James Street Plaza during the City of Newcastle’s Global Gathering, with support from Newcastle Museum. Archival footage and interviews preserved these stories for future audiences and highlighted the legacy of migrant communities in the region.
In Western Sydney, the Multicultural Communities World Cup Football Tournament and Community Celebration brought together over 20 culturally and linguistically diverse communities at Rydalmere Park. Hosted by the African Australian Football Association (AAFA), the free event featured football matches, cultural performances, youth showcases, and activities that promoted inclusion and cross-cultural awareness.
In Dubbo, Cross Cultural Carnivale, organised by ORISCON, celebrated music, dance, food, and art from diverse traditions. The full-day event included live entertainment, children’s activities, multicultural food stalls, and interactive experiences that strengthened community bonds and showcased the region’s diversity.
In Griffith, the Multicultural Festival brought together the city’s diverse communities for a vibrant celebration at Memorial Park. Hosted by the Multicultural Council of Griffith Inc., the free event featured cultural performances, food stalls, interactive activities, and youth showcases. Attendees enjoyed traditional music and dance, sampled global cuisines, and participated in engaging experiences that promoted inclusion and cross-cultural understanding.

Minister for Multiculturalism Steve Kamper said:

“Many regional festivals have also drawn visitors from outside the area, boosting local tourism and helping to create jobs.
“The Minns Labor Government acknowledges the importance of our state’s multiculturalism, and this program will go far in sharing cultures and traditions with communities across NSW.”
Carmel La Rocca, organiser of the Griffith Multicultural Festival, shared her reflections on the impact of the Stronger Together grant:
“We’re really grateful for the Stronger Together grant. It helped us run a vibrant and inclusive festival that brought our community together and showcased the richness of our cultural diversity.
“The turnout was huge this year. The park stayed full all day, and the feedback was incredibly positive. Each year the festival grows, and the grant has really supported us in making that happen.
“It’s made a real difference in how people connect. We’ve seen more openness, more curiosity, and a genuine appreciation for each other’s cultures. The ripple effects from these moments shift perspectives and lay the groundwork for long-lasting community cohesion.”
