لقد كان من المقلق للغاية مشاهدة الاحتجاج الذي جرى أمام برلمان نيو ساوث ويلز يوم أمس.
إن ذلك يُظهر أن هناك من لا يزال يسعى إلى إثارة الانقسام، وبثّ الخوف، ونشر الكراهية، وتقويض الانسجام الاجتماعي.
إن العنصرية، والتعصّب الديني، والكراهية، والتطرف لا مكان لها في ولاية نيو ساوث ويلز. إن استهداف أي مجتمع بسبب دينه أو ثقافته أو لغته هو أمر مشين. ونحن ندرك الأثر المباشر الذي تسببت به أحداث الأمس على مجتمعنا اليهودي، ونؤكد تضامننا الكامل معهم.
يجب أن نواصل العمل معًا من أجل تعزيز الاحترام والتفاهم والوحدة داخل مجتمعاتنا.
إن نيو ساوث ويلز ولاية تفخر بتعددها الثقافي والديني، وهي مكان يمكن فيه للناس من جميع أنحاء العالم أن يجدوا موطنًا لهم ويزدهروا فيه. لكل شخص في ولايتنا الحق في أن يشعر بالأمان.
ونؤكد التزامنا العميق بمواصلة تعزيز التماسك الاجتماعي ونشر الانسجام المجتمعي في جميع أنحاء الولاية.

Statement from the Multicultural NSW Advisory Board and the NSW Faith Affairs Council

It was deeply concerning to see the protest outside NSW Parliament yesterday.
It demonstrates that there are still people who seek to create division, instil fear, spread hate, and erode social harmony.
Racism, religious intolerance, hate and extremism have no home in New South Wales. Targeting any community, because of their faith, culture or language is abhorrent. We acknowledge the direct impact that yesterday’s events will have had on our Jewish community and we stand in solidarity with them.
We must continue to work together to uphold respect, understanding, and unity within our communities.
New South Wales is a proudly multicultural and multi faith society. A place where people from every part of the world can find a home and thrive. Every person in our state has the right to feel safe.
We remain deeply committed to strengthening social cohesion and promoting community harmony across our state.
