مجلة عرب أسترالياــ المجلس العربي أستراليا يُودّع الرئيسة التنفيذية رندا قطان
كانت قيم رندا وتفانيها في المجتمع الناطق باللغة العربية عمادًا في نجاح المجلس العربي أستراليا منذ أن بدأت في هذا المنصب في فبراير 1998. لقد كان ثبات رندا والتزامها بمبادئ المجلس والمجتمعات التي تعمل معها ساطعًا كوضوح الشمس.
تم ترسيخ عمل رندا الجاد وتصميمها والتزامها بالعدالة الاجتماعية كإرث لفترة طويلة. لم تتراجع رندا أبدًا عن الدفاع عما تؤمن به، أو تحدي الوضع الراهن للدفاع ضد عدم المساواة. مع وجود رندا على رأس القيادة، تمت مواجهة التحديات التي واجهت المجلس والمجتمع بشكل مباشر، بشغف وتصميم لا يعرف الخوف.
هذا وقد أقام المجلس العربي الأسترالي حفلا لتوديع رندا قطان يوم الخميس 23 مايو 2024، تقديرًا لمساهمتها الهائلة في المجلس والمجتمع. حضر الحدث عدد كبير من أعضاء الولاية الفيدرالية والمحليين الحاليين والسابقين، ووسائل الإعلام، وقادة المجتمع، والموظفين، والأصدقاء، والعائلة.
قالت رندا قطان: “لم يكن قرار الاستقالة من منصب الرئيسة التنفيذية قرارًا سهلاً واستغرق وقتًا طويلًا لاتخاذه. لكن هذاهو الوقت المناسب للمجلس نظرًا لقوته وقدرته على الصمود في وجه انتقال من هذا النوع. لقد تطور المجلس إلى مؤسسة فعالة ومستقبلية ومحترمة على نطاق واسع، وعلى استعداد لتولي جداول الأعمال الحكومية التي تؤثر على المجتمعات”.
تم الاعتراف بمساهمة رندا في العدالة الاجتماعية والعمل من أجل المجتمع في هذا الحفل، حيث تم الإعلان أيضًا عن أن السيد حسن موسى سيكون الرئيس التنفيذي القادم للمجلس العربي أستراليا.

Arab Council Australia’s farewells outgoing
Chief Executive Officer Randa Kattan
After 26 years of dedicated service, Randa Kattan, the Chief Executive Officer of Arab Council Australia, will be stepping down on May 31st, 2024. Randa’s values and dedication to the Arabic-speaking community have been the cornerstone of Arab Council Australia’s success since commencing in the role in February 1998.
Randa’s steadfastness to the principles of the organisation and commitment the communities it serves has been without question. Her legacy of hard work, determination and commitment to social justice was long cemented. Randa never shied away from standing up for what she believed in, or challenging the status quo to defend against inequality. With Randa at the helm, the challenges that have faced the organisation and the community have been met head on, with passion and fearless determination.
Arab Council Australia held an event to farewell Randa Kattan on Thursday 23 May 2024, and in recognition of her enormous contribution to the organisation and the community. The event was well attended by current and former federal state and local members, media, community leaders and workers, friends and family.
“The decision to resign from the position of CEO was not an easy one and took a very long time to make. But it’s the right time for Council given its strength and capacity to weather a transition of this nature. Council has evolved into a dynamic, forward thinking, purpose driven and widely respected organisation, ready to take on government agendas that impact communities.” Randa Kattan said.
Randa’s contribution to social justice and work with and for the community was acknowledged at the event, where it was also announced that Mr Hassan Moussa will be the next Chief Executive Officer of Arab Council Australia.
